The present invention relates to a press mechanism for compacting waste. The waste is placed in a press chamber (2). DESCRIPTION The present invention relates to a press mechanism for compacting waste. The basic elements of the pressing mechanism consist of a pressing piston (1) which, within a pressing chamber (2), presses the waste against an inclined rear plate (3). This reduces the volume of the press and the waste is compressed. As pressure increases behind the plate (3), the pressure against the resilient open plate (4) at the bottom of the press chamber also increases. The resilient open plate (4) is actuated by spring (5) and fixed in hinge (6). When the pressure of the waste against the opening plate (4) exceeds the spring force, the opening plate (4) will tilt downwards and allow waste to pass. The press procedure is intended as a continuous process. Ie that the press chamber (2) is never completely emptied. Each time some waste enters the press that is compressed, an equivalent amount of compressed waste will be released at the draft end. When compression is complete, the plunger (1) returns to its initial position. The transfer of power to the plunger takes place by means of two linear actuators (7).
